Carpal tunnel pain can prevent you from living the life you want to. Giovanelli, DC, PC, our chiropractor Dr. Giovanelli has extensive education, training, and experience in neurology, sports injuries, orthopedics, extremity adjusting, and biophysics. He specializes in the treatment of conditions that affect the ankle, foot, hand, wrist, elbow, neck, back, and shoulder. Avoid Repetitive Tasks

Repetitive tasks like typing, playing guitar or piano, knitting, baking, and using power tools can put added stress and strain on your wrist. Avoiding or taking frequent breaks from repetitive tasks can reduce your symptoms and help you remain comfortable. You should also try to avoid tasks or activities that stress or strain your wrist, wear a wrist brace, or use less force while completing these tasks.

Wear Custom Wrist Splints

Custom wrist splints provide added support for your wrists, keep them straight, and relieve the pressure on your median nerve. If you have to complete repetitive tasks, a wrist splint can relieve your symptoms or prevent them. They can also prevent your wrists from flexing in one direction or another.

Do Exercises and Stretches

Therapeutic exercises and stretches can relieve tension, inflammation, stiffness, and pain. Whenever you have five to ten minutes, do some exercises and stretches, like making a fist and slowly extending your fingers out so your hand is straight again. Repeat five to ten times to relieve pressure.

Elevate Your Wrists

Relieve pain, inflammation, and swelling by elevating your hands and wrists whenever you can. If you spend all day typing at a computer, use a wrist pad.
