Impulse IQ Adjusting

Never before did I think I would be utilizing an instrument to perform chiropractic adjustments. I've been a purist dedicated to the art of hands-on techniques. Neuromechanical Technique is a chiropractic method that uses a hand held electric instrument known as The Impulse IQ. It delivers extremely precise multiple thrusts to both trigger points and bones. It reduces muscle tightness and improves joint motion. The Impulse IQ moves 100 times faster than the human hand! The beauty of the this technique is that it allows far more people to receive adjustments when traditional, manual thrusting, might be contraindicated. The IQ contains sensors that detect the resistance present in your joints and muscles. It then uses this auto sensing technology to deliver the necessary pulses per second to achieve maximum motion. It emits a tone when successful, two tones if no change was achieved.

We are shocked at how many people actually prefer the Impulse IQ over traditional methods. We try and offer what you prefer and what works best for you. In our practice we offer more than one methods and often times use a combination of instrument and hands on chiropractic.

Well Wave Therapy

What is the Well Wave?

Well Wave is a new machine by Richard Wolf Co. In Germany. It is designed to treat pain by working on scar tissue and adhesions formed by injuries and increasing blood flow. It is also knows as low energy extracorporeal shockwave therapy, or acoustic compression therapy.

How Does it Work?

Well Wave is acoustic percussion therapy (APT). Sound waves are emitted in strong bursts with a controlled depth of penetration of zero to 30mm under the skin. The technology is the same as that used in lithotripsy, the technology used to pulverize kidney stones and gall stones. Lithotripsy requires a patient to be under general anesthesia due to its considerable strength, whereas Well Wave allows the patient to be fully awake and comfortable.Piezoelectric crystals in the device receive an electrical charge, expand, and emit a short powerful percussive shock wave. Many people ask why this is different from therapeutic ultrasound.Well Wave stays within a focused beam and delivers a strong burst.Ultrasound disperses outward and delivers steady vibrations in a much less targeted manner.

Is it FDA approved?

Manipulation Under Anesthesia (MUA)

You think you've tried everything? That's very doubtful. Nearly every MUA patient loved their results so much they can't wait for another round.

Our team of doctors performs manipulation under anesthesia (MUA) once per week on Friday mornings. This is a fantastic means of improving joint, muscle, and tendon flexibility where all other methods have failed. Being sedated allows us to stretch you to your maximum capability without resistance. Chronic pain can become a thing of the past.

Dr. Giovanelli is certified through New York Chiropractic College to perfom these maneuvers. Procedures are performed with an MUA medical physician an anesthesiologist adminstering the anesthesia, and a pain management doctor to administer dextrose and serapin injections as an adjunct to the MUA. Prior to receiving the MUA procedures, our certified pain management physician will typically administer appropriate injections to the injured area. The combination of MUA with pain management services provides far better results than we've seen with either one used by itself. Services are performed at an ambulatory surgery center. Please call our office for more information about the pre-op prep work, insurance questions, and diagnostics required to begin the process. For more information, please visit our MUA web site www.chimedmua.comThe following videos have been posted with the patient's permission:
